What is this drama about?
Duanwu has worked since childhood as a pearl diver on a special farm that treats its workers like slaves. Miraculously, she escapes and decides to learn about her past and find her father. On her way, she meets a cunning merchant of the Western Regions, Yan Zhiging. While working on his ship, she learns about the mysterious and dangerous world of merchants and beautiful jewelry.
I have had my eye on this drama since its production. I try to watch all of Zhao Lusi’s dramas. This is her second time pairing with Liu Yunning (the first time was in The Long Ballad). They both do great in their roles. I’m only on episode 10, but as soon as I finish “Fangs Of Fortune”, I will devote all my drama time to this drama.
The drama’s story captivates you from the very first episode. We have many interesting characters here, such as Cui Shijin (Chloe Xie), and Yan Zhijing’s intrigues introduce many plot twists. At this stage of the drama, I am very satisfied, but considering that there are 40 episodes, anything can still happen.
