“Fangs Of Fortune” – demons also have the right to feelings

What is this drama about?

The balance between the human and demon worlds has been disrupted. Demons have escaped from their land of Wilderness, taking human form and causing chaos among people. Mysterious murders occur, in which a demon is probably involved. To explain this, a group of unique oddities is formed, which includes: one of the strongest demons, a goddess without power, a descendant of a strong clan with a magic sword, a 13-year-old brilliant medic and a former leader of demon-hunting units. If they fail, they will lose their lives.

I recently finished watching this drama, but I’ll admit that the last 5 episodes took me about 3 weeks. I couldn’t bring myself to finish it. But I finally did and it’s time for a short summary. There will be spoilers.

What was good.

1. The first half of the drama was great thanks to the stories of various demons who weren’t evil by nature, but circumstances forced them to do bad things. Additionally, there were guest appearances by actors I like, so that was also a nice surprise.

2. Visually, the drama was beautiful. Wonderful shots, set design, costumes, shots during the fight scenes. On top of that, a beautiful cast. There was nothing to find fault with.

3. The character played by Tian Jiarui was my favorite character. He was a bit stiff, but he had charisma. His fights with that blue sword were a great spectacle. Tian Jiarui is definitely on my watchlist because the guy has huge potential.

4. The soundtrack is amazing. The whole OST was great, it’s hard to decide which songs were the best. I liked that every actor in the cast sang and their song became the leitmotif of their character.

5. The relationships between the team members. Bai Jiu and Zhuo Yichen, Bai Jiu and Ying Lei, Zhuo Yichen and Zhao Yuan. The guys were the best in this drama.

What was bad.

1. The second half was terribly overcomplicated and dragged on mercilessly. There was too much talking for an adventure drama. On top of that, the last episodes were a death fest. Any Grim Reaper would come out satisfied. I don’t know what the Chinese are up to with killing off characters at the end of the drama, seriously, they could control themselves a bit.

2. The girls. Both were bland and unremarkable. The goddess is okay, because she was supposed to be so frail and weak. Unfortunately, Miss Pei was as stiff as wood, but unfortunately we owe that to the actress.

3. Romance. If there was any romance, they hid it very well, because the chemistry between the main characters was zero. At the beginning, there were sparks of flirtation, but later it was bland and flat.

I guess that’s it. I’m glad I watched it, because despite everything, there were a lot of cool moments, and of course Tian Jiarui in those blues. He was simply divine.
